How to Access Services

The Chanda Center for Health offers a range of integrative and clinical services designed for individuals with long-term physical disabilities. Services are available onsite, remotely for eligible participants, and through community partnerships.

Our primary location is in Lakewood, CO., Participants can access multiple services, often on the same day, all under one roof. Services are available through a variety of payment options, including:

  • Medicaid
  • Medicare
  • Bridge Discount Program (Eligibility Based)
  • Self Pay
  • Workers’ Compensation

Access Services Options

Medicaid: Complementary & Integrative Health (CIH) Waiver

The Complementary & Integrative Health (CIH) Waiver provides Medicaid reimbursement for integrative therapies, including massage therapy, acupuncture, and chiropractic care. For eligible members, Medicaid will fund over 100 hours of care each year for these integrative therapies. This waiver was formerly known as the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Waiver.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the CIH Waiver, you must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a diagnosis of spinal cord injury (traumatic or non-traumatic), multiple sclerosis, brain injury, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, or cerebral palsy
  • Have an inability to ambulate independently as a result of one of these conditions
  • Meet financial eligibility requirements for Medicaid

Your Medicaid case manager will assist with enrollment in the waiver. Case management agencies are assigned based on the county where you live. The Care Coordination team at the Chanda Center for Health can help you identify your case manager,  answer questions about the process, and advocate for your enrollment or transition to the CIH waiver if you qualify.

We also provide massage therapy as a benefit through these Medicaid waivers:

  • Children with Complex Health Needs (CwCHN) Waiver
  • Children’s Extensive Support (CES) Waiver
  • Supported Living Services (SLS) Waiver

The Chanda Center for Health offers a bridge program to access discounted treatments onsite at our Lakewood facility for individuals awaiting Medicaid enrollment. These services are provided based on an ability to pay and funded by the generous donations of the supporters of our nonprofit Center.  Individuals may be eligible based on the following requirements:

  • Living with a spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, spina bifida, brain injury, muscular dystrophy, or another neurological condition
  • Inability to ambulate independently
  • No medical insurance that covers the requested therapy
  • Financial limitations that prevent paying for services
  • Meet qualifications for a Medicaid waiver program

The Chanda Center for Health provides self-pay services for able-bodied individuals and those with long-term disabilities who also have the resources to pay at our standard rates. As our way to say thank you, caregivers, service members, first responders, and seniors receive $20 off.

Worker's Compensation

The Chanda Center for Health is a provider of workers’ compensation under Pinnacol. However, if you have worker’s compensation with another provider, please talk with your worker’s comp case manager to determine possible coverage of care.
