Our Services
At the Chanda Center for Health, we provide individualized and collaborative care designed to support people with long-term disabilities. Every service is delivered by an expert provider, familiar with the unique challenges faced by people living with neurological and mobility-related conditions. Our provider team works with participants to set and achieve meaningful health goals.
Our approach is:
Participant-First
Care plans tailored to individual needs and goals
Collaborative
Providers work together and communicate across services
Adaptive
We adjust plans as participant needs evolve and progress against goals
Supportive
We also help participants navigate the healthcare system and community resources
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is designed to support our participants through safe, adaptive, hands-on care. Our therapists use a combination of techniques, including therapeutic touch, stretching, range-of-motion work, and lymphatic support. These approaches help reduce pain, ease muscle tension, improve circulation, and increase comfort and mobility.
Sessions may also incorporate supportive tools, yoga-based movement, and gentle stretching techniques to help the body relax and function more efficiently. Research shows massage therapy can help improve pain levels, stress, anxiety, and disability-related symptoms, contributing to a better overall quality of life. Our massage therapists tailor each session according to positioning needs, medical history, and wellness goals.
What to Expect: As you build a relationship with your massage therapist, you will collaborate to set healthy goals, explore adjustments to your care plan, and promote positive changes to your health both inside and outside of the Center. Each therapist brings a unique background and approach, allowing you to explore early on which provider relationship might be a good fit and seek out variety in treatment as your care advances over months and years.
Acupuncture
Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture uses very fine, sterile needles placed at specific points on the body to support the nervous system, reduce pain and inflammation, ease muscle tension, and promote overall balance.
Sessions may also include diet and lifestyle guidance, herbal recommendations, or cupping therapy when appropriate. Our providers adapt treatments to accommodate positioning, comfort, and complex medical needs.
What to Expect: Acute concerns that you have may improve quickly, while most chronic conditions often require regular and ongoing care. Many participants often notice relief within a few sessions, with progress building over time as you engage with consistent treatment and supportive lifestyle habits.
Chiropractic
Modern chiropractic care uses gentle, precise techniques involving light hand contact or specialized tools. Since this approach is low-force and deliberate, it does not pose any concern for individuals with spinal fusions or hardware. All of our chiropractors are highly trained and experienced in this method and understand the sensitivities involved with treatment for individuals with neurological conditions.
What to Expect: You may experience meaningful results from a chiropractic adjustment in a short period of time because it stimulates the nervous system. Many participants experience changes that last from hours to days. In a typical chiropractic setting, an adjustment may only take 7–10 minutes. At the Chanda Center for Health, your appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes to allow time for transfers and evaluation, ensuring care is adapted to your unique needs.
Physical Therapy
Our physical therapists work with participants to create customized therapeutic exercise programs that complement and expand on findings from the initial evaluation. The physical therapist utilizes a variety of techniques, including joint mobilizations, fascial and neural mobilizations, task-specific neuroplasticity driven exercises, graded motor imagery for pain management, neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) for neuro re-education, and instrument-assisted fibrosis management.
What to Expect: Moving your body is important and ensuring you move in proper alignment is critical. Often, the excitement around regaining balance and walking can overshadow your body’s needs, causing more harm than good. It is important to hold optimism for the future while working hard on activities of everyday living. Our physical therapist will work with you to customize goals, which can cover a wide range but involves increasing independence with daily activities to strengthen the core for improved alignment in a bed or a wheelchair. Using functional electrical stimulation, blood flow restriction, incorporated yoga, and other specialized techniques, treatment plans are tailored to support your growth and progress.
Care Coordination
Care coordination is at the heart of our collaborative healthcare model. Our care team partners with participants to help ensure resources are available to support a healthy, connected, and independent life. Sometimes this means linking people to services offered within the Center, but often it involves introductions to trusted community organizations that can offer additional services tailored to their goals.
What to Expect:
Internal Navigation: While your may find the Chanda Center for Health looking for a specific service, we guide you through a comprehensive intake process so you can understand the full range of support available. As an example, someone seeking massage therapy may also benefit from acupuncture, chiropractic care, counseling, or other services. It’s important that you understand how our services work together to support overall health. We always work closely with your case manager to make sure your health goals are prioritized in your care here and with your broader care team.
External Navigation:After an injury or diagnosis, managing needs and navigating resources can be overwhelming. Beyond the offerings available at the Center, our care coordinator will help you research, contact, and access community resources that support independent living. This may include transportation, home modifications, Medicaid programs, and other supportive community resources.
Adaptive Yoga
Finding balance, both physically and in daily life, begins with the desire to look inward. Starting the day with a focus on health can be as simple as breathing and stretching. When these come together, the world of yoga appears.
Adaptive yoga can help improve stress management, deepen the connection with your body, and increase strength, balance, and flexibility, both mentally and physically. When participants describe how they feel after class, many say, “I feel lighter.” Yoga helps create space in the joints and relieve the compression the body can hold due to limited movement and muscle tightness.
What to Expect: In adaptive yoga, traditional poses are modified to meet your individual abilities. Whether you are someone who walks but experiences mobility or balance challenges, or if you have little to no muscle control, everyone is welcome. Adaptive yoga can be practiced in or out of your wheelchair. For those in a chair, we encourage you to move to a cushioned mat on the floor, allowing for additional manipulation. Props such as chairs, bolsters, blocks, straps, sandbags, or your own wheelchair may be used to support different poses. Physical assistance from volunteers and staff is provided when needed to ensure safety and comfort. Namaste!

Our primary care provider takes the time to understand your complex health issues, has extensive experience treating patients with neurological conditions, and accepts Medicaid insurance. Combining the flexibility of in-person and telehealth visits for a preventative approach, our provider can also engage with expert wound care treatment and chronic illness management. Primary Care services are provided in partnership with Wound and Family Practice of the Rockies, LLC.
What to Expect: Your experience in treatment through Wound and Family Practice of the Rockies will align with the overall mission of our organization, incorporating deep experience in preventative medicine into the integrative therapies offered on location at the Center. Primary care visits are tailored to give appropriate time for evaluation and discussion of your whole person. Your provider will use evidence‑based approaches tailored to your needs, with careful attention to the complexities of any neurological conditions.
Mental Health
When our body hurts, so does our mind. The opposite is also true. When our mind hurts, so does our body. The mind and body continually interact. Counseling can address the cognitive and emotional concerns resulting from life’s challenges. Some common concerns that many of our participants face include chronic pain, stress, anxiety, trauma, isolation, and depression. With a positive, holistic approach, counseling can help you have more good days. Mental Health Services are provided in partnership with Jefferson Center for Mental Health.

Our providers have experience working with families, couples, and individuals, and a large range of specialties, including but not limited to anger, anxiety, depression, addiction, pain management, stress, and trauma. We also provide biofeedback! Just like our bodies, we are dedicated to enabling participants to exercise their minds. Appointments can be established for in-person visits at the Center or virtual sessions.

Participants are required to pay sales tax on the redeemable product. Additional program requirements will be shared during enrollment with our care coordination team.
